I Found a Dreamy Glass-House Bakery Cafe in Daejeon… and It Was Almost Empty
Review of NTBR Cafe in Sintanjin, Daejeon | Spacious and Quiet Bakery Cafe on Weekdays
Hello! Today, I'm sharing a visit to NTBR Cafe, a large bakery cafe located in Sintanjin, Daejeon.
After hearing that weekends come with long waits, I stopped by around 3 PM on a weekday. As expected, it was peaceful and not crowded, giving me plenty of time to explore and enjoy the space.
The exterior of the building was stunning from the moment I arrived.
The glass-walled structure sparkled under the sunlight, and the waterfall feature flowing down the second-floor windows immediately caught my eye.
I was genuinely delighted to find such a stylish and modern cafe in Daejeon.
Parking and Accessibility
Parking was convenient, with plenty of spaces both in front and behind the building.
Since it was a weekday, there was no problem finding a spot, and I walked in without any wait at the entrance.
This is definitely one of the best perks of visiting on weekdays.
Even if you visit on a weekend, the area isn’t overly commercialized, so parking shouldn’t be too difficult.
First Floor Interior & Bakery
As soon as I stepped inside, natural light poured through the floor-to-ceiling windows, filling the space.
Through the glass, I could see a beautifully maintained garden and beyond it, a peaceful reservoir.
The modern black-and-gray interior contrasted with the natural scenery, creating a very refined atmosphere.
With few guests around, selecting a seat was easy and stress-free.
First, I headed to the bakery display on the first floor.
My eyes widened the moment I saw it.
A stunning variety of pastries and breads were neatly arranged, and each item looked delicious.
Even though it was a weekday afternoon, several items had already sold out.
It seems popular menu items disappear quickly.
After some internal debate, I chose a pistachio croissant and a fig cream-cheese bread.
The cakes in the chilled display case looked tempting as well, but today was a bakery-focused visit.
Second-Floor Window Seats – Best View in the Cafe
After ordering, I headed upstairs.
The second floor felt even more open, with high ceilings and expansive windows offering an impressive view.
The sofa seats by the windows seemed like the most popular spot, and luckily I found one empty.
The view of the pond and distant mountains was breathtaking.
Being able to enjoy nature so closely within the city is truly NTBR’s greatest charm.
This place seems perfect for all seasons, and I already want to return throughout the year.
A Quiet and Relaxing Time
Because there weren’t many people, the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing.
If I had come on the weekend, it likely would have been crowded and hectic, so visiting on a weekday afternoon was the perfect choice.
Outdoor Terrace & Lawn
I went back downstairs and explored the outdoor terrace as well.
A spacious lawn was well-maintained, making it a great place for families with kids.
As evening approached, more families started arriving.
The staff were kind, and tables were frequently cleaned, keeping the atmosphere comfortable.
The restrooms were also clean and well-kept.
If I had to mention a downside, the men's restroom being outside was slightly inconvenient.
Overall Thoughts on NTBR Cafe
To sum up, I’m thrilled that such a high-quality large bakery cafe has opened in Daejeon.
The architecture is stunning, the interior design is refined, and most importantly, the coffee and baked goods taste fantastic.
Since weekends can get extremely crowded, I recommend visiting weekday afternoons for a calm experience.
In particular, 2 PM to 4 PM seemed to be the quietest.
It’s a perfect spot for spending peaceful time alone or enjoying a date.
Next time, I plan to try more of their bakery menu.
I highly recommend NTBR to anyone living near Daejeon or looking for a relaxing drive destination.
