Is This Korea? European Terrace at Cafe Gonggan Cheongju
This destination is more than just a place for coffee; it is a monumental architectural beauty crafted by designers and landscapers, blending nature with relaxation.
The vast outdoor terrace, where you can feel the changing seasons, is already famous among visitors as the ultimate photo spot.
Today, I will reveal the charms of this hidden gem, ready to captivate global travelers and bakery lovers, a place too good to be kept secret by locals.
Wow, as soon as I saw the entrance, I instantly thought, "Is this Korea or Europe?"
The glass and steel building looks incredibly sophisticated. At night, the warm yellow lighting from inside makes it look like a giant glittering jewelry box.
Especially with the Christmas golden tree and lights decorated at the entrance, it was absolutely stunning.
The combination of the cold metal structure and warm ambient lighting creates an amazing atmosphere! Taking a photo here feels like standing in the middle of a European Christmas market.
Winter Wonderland! Meet the Cute Polar Bears
The moment I opened the door, I gasped. Even though Christmas has passed, this place is still full of cozy winter vibes!
Fluffy polar bear and squirrel dolls are gathered between sparkling white trees. It was so cute I almost had a heart attack.
White fabric is laid on the floor, making it look like the bears are playing on real snow.
On the ceiling, soft snowflake-like balls are hanging down. Reflecting the light, it felt like entering a fairy forest.
It seems they will keep this decoration until winter ends. If you haven't visited yet, come quickly and take a photo with these cute bears!
You know that feeling when your heart melts as soon as you step inside from the cold, right?
Wow, another amazing surprise awaited me at the 2nd-floor garden! This is truly a view restaurant.
Just looking at the twinkling trees was healing in itself.
As you can see in the picture, there is a magnificent pine tree next to the large flashy tree. It is so sensible and cute that they dressed the tree in red clothes.
The unique mix of Korean beauty and Western Christmas atmosphere creates a special landscape you can only see here.
Since it is an outdoor garden, the wind was a bit chilly!
I naturally said, "Ah, it's cold!" but I couldn't give up this sparkling view unfolding before my eyes, so I watched it for a long time.
High Ceilings and Exotic Palm Trees
Walking toward the stairs to the second floor with bread from the first floor, my jaw dropped again!
I immediately understood why the cafe is named 'Gonggan' (Space). Because the ceiling is so high, huge palm trees are standing tall, almost touching the roof indoors.
Sparkling lights cascade down like a waterfall between the palm trees. Isn't this a total resort vibe? Seeing the night sky slightly through the glass wall mixed with indoor lighting created a mysterious and beautiful atmosphere.
Looking to the side while going up the stairs, it was full of green plants, purifying my eyes. The space itself is so magnificent that the background does all the work for photos!
Don't forget to stop here and take a picture before going to the second floor!
Paradise for Bakery Lovers
Wow... You all know you have to stop here before going up the stairs, right?
The variety of bread on the display stand is enormous! Golden-baked breads are spread out endlessly, and each one looks so beautiful that I fell into a happy dilemma of what to choose.
There were also many baked goods sets in pretty boxes, perfect for gifts.
Maybe because of the Christmas season, it was decorated with cute dolls, making it fun to look around.
The counter area was very clean, and all the staff were wearing Santa hats, so I really felt the end-of-year vibe!
Cute Alert! Santa Cold Brew (Must Buy!)
And I found a jackpot item! Cold brew and milk bottles are lined up in the refrigerated showcase, and oh my gosh... each bottle is wearing a tiny Santa hat!
The coffee itself isn't limited edition, but this hat alone makes it a visual limited edition worth keeping 200%.
It was so cute I couldn't help but buy it. Holding a bottle of cold brew with a hat makes for a perfect Instagram shot!
These small details seem to make Cafe Gonggan even more special.
Romantic Outdoor Garden at Night
Wow... Is this atmosphere real as soon as I stepped outside? There are large rocks and a pond, and the cafe lights reflecting on the water looked like the Milky Way in the night sky, so I stared at it blankly.
Walking along the wooden deck path feels like a Japanese garden or a sophisticated modern art museum courtyard, so everywhere is a photo zone! The sculpture in the middle of the pond and the surrounding stones create a very luxurious feeling.
Festive Pine Trees and Landscape
There is a really tall pine tree on one side of the outdoors, and did you see it wearing red polka dot clothes?
Standing next to the large tree, it looked like the pine tree became a Rudolph friend, so cute!
Even though it was a cold winter night, thanks to these sparkling lights, my heart felt warm, and I couldn't leave.
The garden view looking down from the 2nd-floor terrace is also amazing, so even if it's cold, you must come out and feel this air!
Signature Einspanner Coffee
Everyone, finally the long-awaited coffee time! The menu I chose is this Einspanner, and doesn't the visual already pass the test?
The dark coffee at the bottom and the soft white cream layer rising above look like a watercolor painting.
When you take a sip, the cold and dense cream touches first, spreading sweetness, and then the bitter coffee comes in... Wow, it's a truly fantastic combination!
The cream wasn't too light or too heavy, just pleasantly sweet.
Thanks to the transparent glass with the pretty cafe logo, I could see the divided layers, so it felt like drinking once with my eyes and once with my mouth.
Drinking it with the sweet bread I chose earlier was pure healing! I thought it was just a view restaurant, but this place dominates as a coffee restaurant too!
