Le Tour Cheongju: Luxurious Hotel-Concept Café with Stunning Myeongam Reservoir View | Honest Review
Le Tour in Cheongju: My Honest Review After Visiting
Stay Interview is a popular Korean brand known for opening cafés (and sometimes accommodations) at the country’s most scenic view spots. When Le Tour opened in Cheongju, it blew up on social media right away, and now it’s the first place people think of when they hear “Myeongam Reservoir.”
I kept seeing it all over my feed and finally went there last summer. I totally get the hype now. Time to share my experience!
The entrance already gives off pure hotel vibes

The atmosphere starts at the entrance. White walls, marble details, golden lamps – it feels more like a luxury hotel lobby than a café. The whole place is designed around a hotel concept, even though there are no rooms to book.
Photos make you think “yeah, sure,” but in person it really feels like you’ve stepped into a European boutique hotel.

And the details are next level… Even the address sign is only in English. Little touches like that make the whole vibe come alive.
A bakery corner that feels like a hotel lobby

Once inside, you immediately hit the bakery area, and that’s where the hotel concept really hits you. Classic serving carts, black awning – it’s exactly like the bakery corner in a luxury hotel lobby. Just picking out bread puts you in a good mood.
Trendy gelato showcase

Next to the bakery is a beautiful gelato case. Flavors like Dubai chocolate, black rice, mugwort (a Korean herb) and salted popcorn – pretty trendy lineup. The menu names are written in English on the glass, adding even more to the atmosphere.

The salted popcorn (with a huge pile of real popcorn on top) and mugwort gelato especially catch the eye visually. The combinations make you curious about the taste right away.
A counter that looks like a hotel reception desk

The order counter genuinely resembles a hotel check-in desk: long marble-style counter, warm lighting, grid-patterned wall. You almost feel like saying “I’d like to check in” 😉. Even the ordering area feels luxurious.
Hidden hotel details everywhere

What makes this café stand out is that every single detail is on point. Nothing feels half-done. Everything fits the hotel concept.

In one corner there’s a traditional hotel luggage cart loaded with cups and decorative items. Normally that could feel forced, but here it blends in perfectly because the whole space already feels like a hotel.
Grand outdoor terrace with arches

The outdoor terrace is stunning too, with tall pillars and arches – the atmosphere stays consistent outside. On a sunny day it must be amazing. I went in the middle of summer, so it was honestly a bit hot outdoors.
Desserts enjoyed with Myeongam Reservoir view

Sitting on the terrace with a drink and the reservoir view feels almost like a mini hotel stay, even though it’s just a café. The space is designed so well that a few hours here is genuinely refreshing.
I ordered a latte-style drink, two kinds of pastry from the bakery, and an affogato (espresso poured over vanilla gelato). I don’t remember the exact names anymore (it’s been a while), but everything came on plates with the LE TOUR logo – nice touch. The pastries especially were outstanding: crispy outside, generously filled inside. I actually liked the desserts more than the drinks. The affogato was perfect for a hot summer day.
Many large concept cafés look great but disappoint on food. Here the desserts were genuinely tasty – that made the experience complete.
Hotel lounge atmosphere indoors

The indoor seating areas feel like a luxury hotel lounge. Floors, walls, lighting – everything matches perfectly.

Other seating areas keep the same style but each spot has its own subtle twist. Next time I definitely want to try a different seat.
Useful tips before visiting Le Tour
There are two parking lots with plenty of space, so driving is no problem. I went on a summer Saturday and walked right in without waiting. Opening hours: 10:00–22:00, last order 21:30, open all year round.
Prices are a bit higher than a regular café, which fits the scale and concept. I recommend checking the latest menu on Instagram or Naver before going.
One downside: Cheongju is a bit far from Seoul, and it’s not a typical tourist city. For international visitors it’s not an obvious stop on a Korea itinerary – it’s more of a deliberate destination for locals.
Public transport gets you to the area, but from the bus stop it’s still about a 20-minute walk. I definitely recommend coming by car if possible.
Le Tour Cheongju – final thoughts: more hotel than many actual hotels
In one sentence: Le Tour feels more luxurious than many real hotels. Every detail – from the address sign to the luggage cart – is thoughtfully executed, creating a completely immersive atmosphere. The desserts were surprisingly good, no waiting, and a few hours here is absolutely worth it.
No rooms, but still a place where you can easily spend half a day relaxing. If you’re ever near Cheongju, make a detour – it’s worth it. Weekdays are even more relaxed and enjoyable.
